Getting your your radio license is now easier than ever. It is broken down into three steps:

The first step is taking the operator's test. This test asks some basic questions that all DJ's should know, like when to speak on air, and some other basic FCC regulations. The best way to prepare yourself for the test is by reviewing the WJSV Study Guide.

After you complete the operator's test, you take the Megaseg/Board Test. You should sit in on a few shows before your test to make sure you are comfortable with speaking and operating the broadcasting console. The Megaseg/ Board Tests  ensure that you are familiar with our DJ software megaseg, and that you know how to correctly operate the console's controls as well as speak on the air.

After you complete your Megaseg/Board Test, you must complete three hours of on-air apprenticeship. This ensures that you know he console and that you are ready to have your own radio show.

Although this task may seem daunting, dozen's of DJ's have done it and so can you. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to speak to the Station Advisor Mr. Butler, or to any of the WJSV Executive Staff members.
