Broadcast Radio Station
WJSV 90.5 FM is an FCC licensed radio station. The transmitter tower is located at the Mountain Way School in Morris Plains, NJ. Students take a three part test to become a licensed DJ. Our extensive music library is controlled through the Megaseg digital DJ program.
The WJSV radio signal is powered at 150 watts and has a range of approximately 15 miles. The station's public file is always available for viewing during school hours as per current FCC Rules and Regulations. The station's broadcast schedule is Monday - Friday 24 hours a day, however truncated hours begin at 7:00AM and continue throughout the day until 10:00PM.
WJSV is an open format radio station, and students play a wide range of music from Rock, Metal, Punk, Pop, Jazz, Alternative, Country, Rap, and Classical.
Broadcast TV Studios & Control Room
The Broadcasting Department has a fully functional television studio with three HD cameras, a full lighting grid and a 32 channel mixing console. Students also use the television studio's chroma key green screen for various projects.
Edit Suites
The facility is also equipped with a large Editing Suite containing 10 Apple computers with Final Cut Pro. There also two audio Editing Suites complete with studio quality microphones, audio consoles, and Soundtrack Pro audio editing software.
Classroom / Room 161
The Broadcasting Department classroom is equipped with 16 Apple computers with Final Cut Pro software. The classroom is also outfitted with a Smart-board projection system as well.
